Thoughts on a South African itinerary invited
 

Hi All

I'm sitting in cold wet UK trying to plan a 4 week itinerary starting and finishing in South Africa, with very limited personal knowledge of the areas i wish to travel through. So I thought i'd share with you my plans so far in the hope that some of you will have first hand experience of the region and be able to propose modifications.

My intention is to ride a BMW F800GS, between mid-March and mid-April taking in Cape Town, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and Johannesburg. Preferably I will stay in hotels and lodges, but will take camping gear as a back up.

But I have no first-hand insight into region, other than vacation time spent at Vic Falls, Cape Town and Johannesburg, and limited understanding of the climate and environment, so I invite advice and potential changes.
