Visa Mocambique
Hello
has anyone recently entered Mocambique from the North (Tanzania)? Did you get your visa in your home country, or in Dar es Salaam or even at the border? Thanks for any info Claudio |
I did the ferry crossing a few months ago and had no problems at the border but I alreayd had a visa issued in London a few months earlier. If you need the phone number of the ferry guy let me know as it only does the crossing at high tide. The border people were super cool on the Tanzanian side and on the Mocambique they were easy but then I had all the paper work, they wanted to see my yellow fever card which seemed strange as I had not come from a yellow fever zone.
Hope this helps |
Visa not issued at this border still unfortunately as of 2 months ago. They are also a bit haphazard on Moz insurance but you can pick this up easily in Pemba if heading that way (Insurance office is opposite LAM in centre of town).
And randomly I've never been asked for yellow fever at this border! Hope all goes well. |
Mozambique Trip
Update 1:
So we managed without hassle to get the tourist visa for Mozambique in Switzerland. Didn't do any booking or anything else they require for a visa. Instead I wrote a letter explaining the trip we are planning to do plus a rough itinerary with date of entry and exit. Got the visa issued within 10 working days. Concerning the 3rd party Insurance for the cars, I bought them at Outdoor Warehouse in South Africa. They are issued there for a period of 30 days and are even written in Portuguese. Hope these will work. Will post another update once we have entered. Greets CA |
