Did around Africa last year. We got none of the visas before hand, matter of fact, getting visas in Finland where we hardly have any embassies would have been impossible anyway.
We got Nigerian visa in Burkina last year, no much hassle. Few weird questions. Accra have been famous place for overlanders to get visas for countries like Nigeria, DRC, Angola for quite a while. |

Mauritania is 140 now? was 120 at border a few months ago
I would get Guinea in in Bissau for $50usd (30,000CFA) 1 month multiple entry. Issued same day. The guy is a bit corrupt saying 1 month is only single entry but a bit of pressure and he crumbles. Good to know about the Sierra Leone and Liberia visas, I would probably get them where you got them eddyboi |
Is there anyone who you know of who traveled or is traveling south to north? I'm trying to find info on where best to get visas, but almost all the info is coming from the North.....

It means that you can go to the Benin consulate in Barcelona for the VTE visa. If my memory is correct, based on their website the last time i checked, the cost is 120euro when applying during the regular visa requests hours (Wednesday morning?). Outside thoses hours there is an extra charged of 20euro for urgent processing. Total cost 140 euro for anytime processing Patrick |
I regularly get mine from Barcelona, brilliant service, 100€ if within their time frame.
They do a multiple entry VTE, which you can't usually get in Ouaga ... so it's even more worthwhile! Sometimes a friend of mine takes my passport to Barcelona for me, other times I've used the postal service & it's worked perfectly with a quick turnaround! |

== We are about to request the Guinea-Conakry visa in Dakar -- does anyone know if an "invitation letter" is still needed, and if so, what form that would take? I am having trouble finding information on this specific aspect. We will also try for a Nigeria transit visa, and maybe DRC too, but are expecting to be laughed out of the Embassies -- but we don't have anything better to do :D Thanks! - Mike |
Has anybody successfully managed to get a Nigerian visa from a West African country other than Mali? Were driving down but are hoping to stick as close to the coast as possible and would love avoid the large detour up to Mali just for a visa!
Thanks! |

Have you seen any recent reports of DRC-Kinshasa visa made in Brazzaville?
Tried second visit to DRC embassy in Gabon, but they only give to Gabon residents. We're debating whether to try Brazza or instead go to Pointe Noire and try to get another Angola visa in addition to the one we have, so we can hop around from Cabinda. Sent from my BTV-W09 using Tapatalk |
