DL650 footpeg relocation
 

I recommanded to my friend to buy a DL650 for his trip(over40000 miles) and he did put some givi sadle bag and top case but he does have now a problem of confort for his passenger. The room on the foot peg is very reduced and just to get on the bike is a pain for his girlfriend.He is using the tub mount furnished by Givi.Any of you guys solve this problem by relocating the passenger footpeg?.

No answers, but let me try and help you. I don't understand is it the case that the peg is to high or the peg is hard to reach, or the peg is too small.

If you need the peg to be more out you can get some welder to get some more length on the stock peg :confused2:

Thanks for answering.Just to be a bit more clear,the passenger foot peg is too close to the luggage and the passenger can barely keep her foot on it while riding , she also have a lot of problem while trying to get on the bike.there is maybe 2 inches between the luggage and the peg.

Ok Hendi I get the pic now. I ride with the givi racks and 41 l sidecases and my girlfriend which is 180 cm tall doesn't have any problem with the space on the peg. It must be the case with the W-strom or something with the rack you've got.
You can get some cnc firm/company to make some modifications, eg to move the peg 3-4 cm forwards. It is not a complicated stuff you just need to get the exact distance it should be moved and to make some sketeches of it.

Measure it and give somebody to make you brackets to move the pegs form the cases,

I just had a look at my V-Strom and reckon the best bet would be to cut the square mounting off the plate, weld it to another plate and cut slots in the plate, drill holes in the existing plate to match the slots and bolt into the desired position.

Not exactly. We suffered the same problem. The cause is the Givi frame which holds the boxes too high and too far forward. I solved the problem by selling the Givis and replacing them with Hepco & Becker "Junior" panniers, so now we are both happy.
