DR-Z 400: Given the chance again, I would...
Hey guys!
I'm delighted to say that after owning a DRZ for the past 4 years and covering thousands of miles on it, and gearing it all up for touring spec. I have gone and bought another. It's funny to think that in hindsight (obviously with a low mileage specimen, not a single scratch and kept in a garage since original purchase) with a blank canvas and experience in modding the bike that there are some things I'm wildly enthusiastic about changing, others not so much. http://www.suzukidrz.com/wp-content/...eIFeelSafe.jpg I plan to document every change I make to the new bike and justify from experience why some things are a good idea and why some are not. :) I by no means am a mechanic, or have any professional backing against my statements, I'm just a layman remarking on things from experience with this type of bike. :) Let me know if you'd be interested in following! |
Hi,
I am interested!!! I just bought a 2006 DRZ 400 SM. thinking it modifing it for my new adventure bike... Still not sure yet, because it's a lot of money, but will follow your post! On my side I am rebuilding an old Yamaha TT600 1990. |
Well glad you're interested. I did my first mod today. I'm currently off work ill so besides feeling sorry for myself I thought I'd be productive.
So my 1st Mod: A Comfortable Seat http://www.suzukidrz.com/wp-content/...dCompleted.jpg It didn't take too long to do and cost me the price of a pillow. I might have to come back and re-do it, as I'm not yet fit to leave the house. However, conceptually it is quite sound. Give it a go! |
Hello I know it has been a long time since this thread was talked about, but how did the seat modification go on the road test?
Was there any other extra modifications you needed to make? Thanks |
