How to avoid wet behind when raining?
G·day all rainriders,:thumbup1:
has anyone managed to find a solution to this big (well depends really)! problem?:confused1: The water gets blown backwards, off your shield, helmet, waterproof jacket and ends dribbling down your back and into these cup shaped seats, that for instance my dear wee strom is equipped with, and there you are sitting possibly for hours on end in a puddle!:( Add the constant getting up and sitting down for comfort movements, that I believe all riders go through as a routine,:welcome: and " are You sitting comfortably- then we·ll begin"--- getting a moist bum, to say the least! :ban: Even the most waterproof pants have problems resisting this "bathing" ordeal. Has anyone got a quick relief solution to this humid problem? You look so stupid wobbling along when You get of your bike and you·re behind is soaked! If not, I wish You all nice riding in dry climates.:punk: Cheers Dan:tongue_smilie: |
I have yet to experience this problem on my wee strom as it has not rained in Saudi since I purchased the bike,:stormy: instead I get soaked from the inside out,:boat: you can't win, It rains you get wet, It's nice and sunny you get wet.
Perhaps a drain tube fitted into the lowest part of the seat would do the trick. Cheers Ian :thumbup1: |

Snake vs worm
Hi Dessertstorm,:thumbup1:
if it·s really hot You could always ride nude, like a friend of mine does in the summer, but be careful with the snake eagles:eek3: ;they go crazy about little, tender wormlike things!:whistling: :rolleyes3: The tube solution is actually not bad! Cheers mate Dan:tongue_smilie: Quote:

Hi Dan,
This is something I might have to have a look at before I ride back to Bolton UK.:mchappy: The idea was due to being a mechanic for some time and remembering scuttle drain tubes in the bulkhead of cars. Of course it would mean drilling a hole through the seat to insert the tube and glue it in place, but you would have to be brave to do the first one.:eek3: Must admit I hadn't had the puddle problem on other bikes so I think I will test mine with a hose pipe first. As for riding nude we have done that already, six of us on a motocross track line abreast, got the photo somewhere. Cheers Ian :thumbup1: |
