DIY: Giant loop heat shield advice
I am planning on making a heat shield for my next motorcycle adventure... as on my last I managed to melt the plastics and a bit of my bag. (GIANT LOOP GREAT BASIN)
I have seen the giant loop ones you pay a premium for and I dont think I will have a problem making one. My question is what metal to use? I have stainless steel plate in the garage and also some sheet aluminium. Also any other ideas/designs to make a heat shield please let me know. |
Ali, it sheds heat better. I'd make it an upside down W shape for strength. Keen to find out the temperature they get though. Wonder if they stay cold enough to touch.

Ideally in Titanium but that is the expensive option.
Second choice: aluminium. I have made one to protect my magadan bag on single exhaust side. |
cheers lads
