That may be true for the United States, Canada, and Australia but certainly not for Europe. I'm not sure if Honda even sold that bike over here. And I also fail to see how a two-stroke Sachs engine that was developed shortly after the second world war based on an engine designed in the 1920s could possibly bear any resemblence with a Honda engine first introduced in the 1980s ;)

thanks, but i don't think the engine is whats giving me the problem. i think the problem still lies within the carburetor. too be honest, i don't know if this is even the right carb for the bike. the more and more i take a look at the bike, i find out that its missing little pieces here and there or pieces just don't seem to fit right.
right now its got a bing 85/12/124 carb on there and i'm going to get a new float needle for it and hopefully that helps but i don't know. i can get it to idle but its the acceleration that is driving me nuts. it will catch for a second and then sputter and cough, then catch again and the process repeats itself time and time again. grrr... :) |
Hello there,
I have just bought myself a Sachs Optima with the 505 3DK motor. I have also had a few problems with the motor and its power output. Then i removed the exhaust and it was totally different. Then i found that there was alt of build up it the exhaust. Could one of you send me a picture of your exhaust manifold. Mine seems to have a strange homemade adaptor with the pin going straight across the cylinder outlet. so i think its causing too much back pressure, not allowing the engine to rev. :) |
