Best bike ever owned ..........
We are all ride our own bikes, and love them !
but..... if you had to only have 1 bike what would it be ? For me it would be my WR250R.this bike does every thing ! |
For me it is a toss up between these two, a BMW R80GS and R80G/S which I think are the best all round bikes of their age, I prefer riding the monolever G/S but the paralever GS is a better travelling bike. I would now use something smaller on a long trip.

KTM lc-4 military
really the 400cc adventure bike everyone is looking for. Nothing similar on the market these days... . cb sevenfifty: good fun but not good off road Transalp: functional but boring, lots of wind noise BMW F650gs dakar: boring, lot's of wind noise KLX 250 FI: nice torque, but not good for long motorway stretches WR250R: closest to the KTM I had, but not quite as stable/fast on motorway. could do with some more low rpm torque. |
For shure my 900 $ Honda Transalp. It took me more then 200.000 km all over the world, is very easy to repair with no computer technik if I had an accedent and very comon so all parts are easy to get: Adventure experience - motorcycle trip riding across Africa

My 1970 Triumph Trophy. 650 cc last of the pre oil in frame models.
Triumph Trophy 650 I have however learned to separate Triumph from Hinkley having had a year or so with a 1993 thunderbird. Loved Triumphs from 1961 until then but as i say I now very clearly differentiate between these entirely separate companies. Will never buy another Hinkley nor am I likely to sell my Enfield. |

Hard to say, as a bike that is good for one type of riding might be lousy in other ways.
I once rented a Honda CX400 for a couple weeks. It was slow, ugly, and kind of boring, but it was (for me) the perfect bike for ergonomics. I found it surprisingly comfortable, and could ride it all day long without the slightest issue. |
