Biker friendly restaurant
 

So, my plan to build from scratch biker friendly cafe/restaurant in Montenegro.

As biker myself - I haven't seen any specialized - in this area.

Your opinion and suggestions are important.
Since I'm building it from scratch - goal is to create the most pleasant place which will suit - bikers needs

-PROFIT IS NOT MY PRIMARILY GOAL. I just want the place where people could drop by - enjoy and get some quality time before they proceed on their adventure.


What facilities and contents you consider place like this needs?

My ideas/guidelines are:

-Open space office, where everyone could inform for free, get recommendations of interesting landmarks & activities & roads to go. Study the maps, and ask for anything that they need.


-Camping grounds on the property nearby.
-Big terrace with tables for food&beverage
-Parking for bikes.
-Air compressor for tires
-Barbecue
-Food would be mostly domestic - and reliable for stomach.

What would you add/consider?

I think the restaurant part of it is the least interesting. I.e. I'm sure there are plenty of places to get food around you, and there isn't really anything moto-specific about it that would make me choose one place over others.

One thing I have seen - signs put up on the roads around saying "free coffee for bikers". This was in Norway. The cost of a cup of coffee to you is almost nothing, but it attracts customers and raises your profile.

Having camping grounds nearby is a great idea, especially if you also have a shower. Ideally you would also have a dry enclosure, big garage or barn, where people can do simple work on their bikes.

You can also have a deal with whatever the big motorcycle parts shop is in Montenegro, you can have their catalog etc in your cafe, and a deal where they would send over a courier to you with things your customers want. For example, I arrive at your cafe, see that I will need an oil change soon, put up my tent in your area, order the oil and filter, then go riding in the mountains for a day until the stuff is delivered, and do the oil change in your garage.

Thanks for realistic response. You are right about the restaurant part. That is why I would like to create diversity of content - that suits most of the needs.

Your ideas are great.
I'd build a showering facility if I manage to accomplish legal allowance for camping grounds.

I like the BBQ area idea...

Also, on the parking front then ensuring it's secure would also help for the camping side of things...

Also long sociable/communal tables might be more fun and add to interaction, particularly for solo travellers
