Canadian ambassador Kevin Vickers tackles protester at Easter Rising event in Dublin

...if only we had British politicians with this man's balls instead of the shower we have - spineless wastes of space.

He shot some nutter who broke into the Canadian Parliament.

Not sure I like the idea of Boris or Komrade Korbynov having access to fire arms. Dave would be fine though so long as he wore toe-tectors.

Wouldn't be unexpected that some locals might object to that particular commemoration. Only surprised that there weren't hundreds

Once again I'm pleased to see a civil and measured reaction by Canadian/Brit authorities.
Need I remind that if this guy tried that in our "FREE" USA ... he'd be a dead man with 4 or 5 cops emptying their mags onto him without so much a word. And they'd all walk free. doh

Our guys don't know what "Threat assessment" means I fear.

You call that a tackle? :smartass:

Here's tackle "American style"

Because losing ones temper and resorting to violence is cool.

mollydog, grown men running into each other wearing a ton of padding is not impressive.

Here's what real men do!

Many of those are now illegal in the 'sport'.

Looks more like a waltz than a tackle.

Interesting though, when I did a search for this the term "Canadian Ambassador Aliens" came up, so of course I clicked on it.

Hey Chris,
You ever play the game? Uh huh.

There is no doubt Rugby is an impressive sport. I've seen it played live in our local leagues here in San Fran Bay area where we've lots of Irish, Aussie and Kiwi immigrants with the occasional African American in the mix who out runs every white guy on the field. :cool4:

What is most impressive is Rugby doesn't constantly stop like NFL Football ... so endurance is not a factor in USA Football. The thing you may be missing is just HOW BIG and HOW STRONG these NFL dudes are. They have so many injuries largely from over development.

But trust me (and I've seen NFL from the side as a film maker) when a 300 lb. 6'8" guy who is LIGHTNING quick hits you at full speed,
no amount of padding will protect you ... perhaps save your head.

Someone commented that many of moves shown are illegal. Don't know if he was referring to the NFL clip or the Rugby one ... (I doubt Warin knows the ever changing NFL rules) ... but it's TRUE in case of NFL. At least 25% of the moves seen in that clip are no longer legal ... especially hits on Quarterbacks.

But that still leaves plenty that ARE legal. But every year they rein it in tighter and tighter. In a way, shame as the game is now CONSTANT interruptions for adjudicating penalties.

I like Rugby a lot ... IMO, it's a more honest game. But as a kid I LOVED playing Football ... and I was decent at it. Problem is Americans no longer play any games after the age of about 20. Instead they sit in front of a screen and vegetate. :nono:
