diesel
Hello. I have a diesel engine car. I use the vpower diesel which is the better quality diesel. Do you know if I can drive through europe?
Thanks |
you might try redline 85 Plus cetane booster, added to not the best diesel... and you can feel the difference! works well in my 330d!

And I'm sure the people that own them drive them ..... |
and I'm pretty sure they have diesel in Europe!
What a bizzare question:confused1: by the way, I suspect European Diesel is a lot better than UK diesel as I consistently get better MPG in continental Europe, including (especially!) in my 530D that I used to have |

You best not, you know what these uncivilised johnny-foreigners are like; who knows what muck they'll try to sell you instead of diesel ? Better to stay at home. |

If in doubt and for peace of mind you could always tow a trailer full of vpower. If that's not an option you should consider going with what they have on the forecourt. You'll be surprised to find that they too sell different grades of diesel (possibly even vpower) and you'll be even more surprised to find that your car will NOT explode if it doesn't get vpower. Live dangerously......the adrenalin rush of using a different diesel will be worth it!! |
Squeeze your chips and use the oil

Or even buy an older car....my Toyota surf runs better on cooking oil than diesel with no mods required. Smells like a chip shop on wheels. Not sure if it's legal in euroland, but it's alot cheaper and there is fuel stops in every village shop..

That makes using full price new cooking oil hardly worth it, but very cheap or free used oil could work if its not too hard or expensive to clean it. I'm all ears as to how to do it :) |
believe it or not thefts of waste cooking oil from restaurants is an on going industry in the UK doh

As for new cooking oil stop shopping in waitrose and get down to your 99p shop..yep 99p a litre. Or tescos does 5ltr bottles for £5. Do remember that you can't just stick it in a landrover without mods...you can in a 1990's Toyota with no mods at all.. Happy days. You do get very strange looks when your in the 99p shop and you ask for 60 bottles and clear their shelves and stockroom. Just do it bit by bit to check all is ok if your worried. 80% diesel 20% oil. Then 60-40. Then 50-50. Etc etc. best to not run 100% in winter as the oil gets thic. 50-50 is ok though as I understand uk garages add something extra to diesel to stop it freezing. Here is a link to the Toyota surf forum which talks about veg oil...it starts with a nice history lesson and has a link to a veg oil users forum. http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/showthread.php?t=15893 |

Apologies........TWO cans of worms! Firstly there's the tax, HMRC, legality etc. can of worms. And secondly, there's the "how to do it" can of worms. You'll get 100 opinions and solutions per can depending on who you ask! :cool4: |
The law is the law and it's clear... As for filtering it that's straight forward and kits are available...couldn't be bothered myself.
