Guatemala - 250 Honda Tornado or DRZ650?

Hello all,

A trip coming up for 19 days around Guatemala this December. We don't have an exact route sorted but wondering if anyone has a good idea for a route? And would you recommend a 250 or a 650 dual sport?
Mixed ability group and would like to do a lot of off-road but also like to see a lot of the country.

Thanks!

250cc! Decent weight for rough roads, good suspension, able to move along and pass on the blacktop. Two position rear shock on the Tornado. For shorter inseam and inexperienced riders some 250cc motos may still be a little high. See if the Honda 190 is available as an option.

Since you want to do a lot of "off-road", on gnarly conditions the 650 will be that much heavier and will reduce the fun factor to dread.

I spent over 6 months accumulated time on a 250cc Honda Tornado in Peru and Ecuador. Was good for gnarly conditions and the PanAm.
