Hanoi to France
 

I know this has been done, even on a Minsk. I am thinking of doing this on my 2006 Sportster. I am most likely leaving in June 2019. If someone can refer me to a blog or? with information concerning this route I would be very appreciative. PEACE

Sounds like an awesome trip! From Hanoi make sure you leave a few days to do the Ha Giang Northern Loop... although maybe not on a pure road bike. ;)

By Sportster, do you mean a Harley-Davidson? Is it a bike you already have in Hanoi? It's easy for foreigners to buy a local bike in Vietnam, but from what I understand, almost impossible to enter the country with a foreign-plated vehicle, especially one that's from further than Laos/Cambodia/Thailand.

The simplest route would be straight up... via Kunming/Dali/Lijiang/Chengdu (I did it from Laos a few years ago on public transport) north into Mongolia and Russia, then west to the Baltics. But China will require a very expensive guide.

Going west you'll have the problems of going through Myanmar/Thailand, beyond that seems to be just a matter of carnet and money and patience.
