Mobility scooter 'cruises' at 8 mph (12 km/h) max (legally) its not only dangerous its just plain stupid (along with its rider).

Mezo.

There's quite a few round here faster than that. I've been overtaken by them when running at close to 8mph. Some of them must be good for 15mph - a speed that's dangerous for us when they're on the pavement and dangerous for them when they're on the road. Even if you stayed off the interstates, crossing the US at 8, or even 15mph, does seem more an exercise in frustration than anything else. It does take all sorts though - a friend of ours is currently doing a virtual Lands End to John O'Groats (somewhere around 900 miles?) for charity by walking her dog. At the rate she's going we figure she'll be finished by Christmas.

And if he were to fall off thus attired, it would be "wears your helmet, sir".
To which he would reply "yes, it did rather".

Here is someone having an adventure during lockdown in the UK - you don't have to go far to have an adventure.

Someone making the most of their time - an adventure with a purpose.

Good to see that his adventure bike has a screen and has a rack for luggage. I wonder if he will go for hard or soft luggage.

He's all over breakfast tv this morning so either he's got a good publicist or you should never underestimate the attractiveness of smut. Whatever happened to those 60's seaside postcards anyway?

If he does progress updates on social media I wonder how many of them will get through the language filters. Life must really sh*t (a village in Lincolnshire ) if you live there.

What can I say? He managed to take up a space on an evacuation plane that could have gone to someone that didn't deliberately put themselves in peril.

I understand the desire to go to unusual places and that we sometimes ignore the warnings on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office but this was, IMHO, utter stupidity and as a result someone was unable to get a seat on the evacuation plane because he was given it. Hopefully that person will get through it OK.
