Dahn sarf for me. My in-laws have a weekend place near Lymington / New Forest and that'll be a reasonable run for whatever wreck comes out of the garage first. Trying to get over the channel to France might be a step too far for a little while yet.

I myself would just LOVE to take a ride in Wales, sunny or not. I'd even bring a torque wrench if that would help make it possible.

Realistically speaking, I'm just hoping the Canadian border will open this summer. For the time being I'm planning to load my van with skis and mountain bikes, then loaf and wander my way around a few neighboring states. Not so long ago that hardly seemed worth the bother.

This brings me to a question to our british friends on here:
How many of you have been to Orkney and Shetland Islands?
I have been there twice and really liked it and lots to see. For me as foreigner it is almost a expedition to go there but for you guys it´s your ¨backyard¨ but still more of a trip then just hopping over the Channel to France :)

Always cold, usually wet with an always expensive and usually rough ferry trip to get there, but otherwise a top spot; there used to be (perhaps still is?) a brilliant bike rally up there at mid summer called the Simmer Dim. bier
