Nose Art and Similar
 

The winter finally got to me and I've ordered another sidecar. As I'm waiting 10 weeks for delivery, have access to the some new software to play with and have seen a bit of aircraft art I thought I'd have a go. Havn't decided about trying to paint or print on, but thoughts are running along the lines below. My last outfit gained a name due to it's mad shape, multiple aerials for the previous owners tape player, bad handling etc. while the one before had a cocktail cabinet at one point. So:

Two questions then:

1. Which (if any) design do you all like/dislike?
2. Not that I get to hot, fruit-your-beer sorts of places these day, but has anyone had any hassle with this sort of thing? (you can't hide in an outfit with a dog for the passenger, but I guess pannier art might cause attention you want or don't want??)

Not sure about the last one - it suggests either too much beer or some sort of electrical short has caused nether regions problems. The shadow one looks good though :rofl: :rolleyes2:

Not quite an answer to your question:

Why not go all the way and do a wrap of the whole thing ! google "vinyl wrap art" and look at the images. I'm toying with covering all or part of my 4x4 in something .......well either super cool or plain dumb arse stupid !

whether or not you get hassle I think largely depends on where you go. I've travelled places and attracted much attention on 2 wheels simply for being there. I don't mind nor does my wife it's a nice welcome sometimes. Would I have something on panniers a bit different? Yeah why not! I might just do that makes a change from country stickers. Like you say you get noticed anyway, so as long as you are not trying to slip over some quite border post without attracting attention do it.

You might need to google "symbols which may be offensive in any part of the world, for all religious and non religious groups and cultures in history since the world began" Just in case you inadvertently pick something bad!

I think I will have to get one sometime, but currently the pain: satisfaction ratio seems low. I suppose getting them spelt correctly might make me stand out in a few local places though.


The vinyl wrap stuff seems to work well. I can get the stuff on the link printed A4 on bumper sticker type stuff for less than a pack of brushes to start the traditional way. My skills on Acrobat/Corel make the rewind function useful and way quicker than a cloth and turps.


The international symbols thing would be a great idea if travelling further than I am. There again, I'm avoiding the "pin-up" style in favour of cartoons for this exact reason, don't want any "is page-3 pornography?" or "God will smite the perverts" type discussions generated.
