PETROL - UK - No go area
The press today warn of unleaded petrol at £2 per litre in the UK,Thats getting closer to $10 a gallon, Diesel around $11 a gallon, which will make the UK a no-go country once again.
As the goverments budget will once again add MORE TAX, and oil prices increase because ONE country stops exporting. The world has gone mad. Soon be cheaper to fill my bike with whiskey or perfume. :scooter:jeiger MAD A HELL AS WISH I WAS ELSEWHERE. |
This is the same press that refer to three snowflakes as the "Blizzard of the Century", tell people that all day drinking is going to lead to the end of civilisation as we know it and continually over sensationalise every mundane event to fill the pages of their out of date chip wrappers?
News is things that have actually happened. This is something UK journalists seem to have failed to understand. So, I wonder what happened to that Bus on the moon and Freddie Stars hamster? Andy |
The UK is hell bent on raping us on taxes, perhaps one day we will take to the streets like we are seeing other countries do, the only time we stand up and do anything is if there is a war or football match, then we are 'up the front' giving it dixie other than that we roll over and take it 'up the 'arris'!

One of the reasons I left the UK :helpsmilie:was that I was sick of being shafted by the government .
Now I live in Canada :freezing:where the politicians are even bigger crooks and taxes are higher .doh But the nice lady at the liquor store:thumbup1: does get British beer in for us ,so life is tolerable .bier C'est la vie !:mchappy: PS My mum says groceries are cheaper at Morrison's than in Canada . |
It's one of those things unfortunately that we have an ever decreasing amount of, and an ever increasing number of people wanting to use what's left.
Plus of course what there is, tends to be located in somewhat 'sensitive' places, so the price is always going to be volatile. Just like the countries :) Tax is a real kicker on top of that of course, but demand for fuel will always dictate its cost, just like everything else. The more we want it, the more we can get shafted for it :) Me? I'm working on my rubber band / hamster powered revolutio-cycle. It'll sort us out in no time, and only runs on kibble. |
oh dear.... The Daily "Hate" Mail is at it again !! God i've missed the UK hahah
Well, i've just got back to see that I cant afford to run the van I wanted to buy due to fuel, insurance, tax etc... I'm turning to pedal power..... !! |
The term "Daylight Robbery" has its origins in the time when the British Government taxed windows in peoples houses. The simple fact is that oil/petrol is cheap and plentiful - it is GOVERNMENT that is expensive (and plentiful) and therefore most of the £1.30 per litre is TAX :nono: The time when people regard petrol price in the same way they viewed the window tax WILL come - and soon!
This morning I filled the van up and it cost me £104 - I am down £104, nearly all in taxes BEFORE I have even done a days work. It seems to me I'm just working to expand the government and lucky if there's anything left over for me at the end of it all and even then that gets taxed heavily too :( Don't kid yourself, if we fuelled our bikes on sea water the government would apply the same taxes to it. GOVERNMENT IS THE PROBLEM! |

The Senior Civil Servants stay the same, still making the same retarded decisions, and living in thier same rose coloured world, with thier golden handshakes and final salay pensions. The elected Politicians don't have any real power in the corridors of Westminister, they just bridge the gap between the elctorate and Senior Civil Servants. If all the money wasted in the various Governement Agencies (from the Prime ministers office right down to the Local Councilors allowences) was put to good use the UK would be in the black again..... |

Tax is undoubtedly the major player in the makeup of the cost of fuel, but if you think that'll change if them at 'the top' change you're kidding yerself! If only the solution were as simple as bricking up the windows and painting them on instead! :) |

As to your point about change at the top - well I assume those at the top in Arabian countries thought the same... The age of Big Government is over; it's an obsolete construct and we can do away with 95% of it (especially the hated EU), avoid anarchy and society can prosper like never before. And we'll all be riding KTM's when I rule the world. |
I shouldn't worry about it. I remember great disbelief when in the 1970 oil crisis it went from 50p to 80p a gallon.. As my dad said then, it is not that things are getting dearer, it is money getting cheaper. so what do you expect after Gordon Brown printed trillions of fake currency? Everything will get 50% dearer to match the UK lira which will soon be on a par with the Turkish Lira.

Here we go again. Can I make 2 suggestions? If you don't like it here, then
1) do something about it, or 2) **** off somewhere else. I'm here to read about adventure travel, if I wanted to drown in excrement while slitting my wrists I'd buy the Daily Mail. |
No offence though. :D
