Some technical advice
Hello.
Australian here travelling to Europe in a couple of months. Was wondering when in UK/West Europe what mobile phone options are best and cheapest in everybody's opinion? Also was thinking of hooking it up with a tracker (via satellite) so family and friends can visually see online my travels. Has anyone done this before? Cheers. |
Hi gypsy,
You're in the HU bar and it's midnight here in the UK, Friday, going on Saturday. So I don't think there is much technical talk going on- I recommend you take a look at Communications - The HUBB for threads about global SIM cards and stuff about tracker systems "Spot" for instance. For Europe there are loads of mob (handy) phone companies, so a global sim makes sense. |

But thanks very much Walkabout. Information much appreciated. Now go back to bedbier |
It's often convenient to just grab a small denomination pre-paid SIM card wherever you end up. You can get some cheaply in most city centers these days.

Yep, Vodafone or 02 etc pay as you go sim will work all over, don't cost much either. |
