Songs about bikes
Do you have any favourite songs about bikes ?
An old one I always liked (showing my punk roots ;) ) "Psycle Sluts" John Cooper Clarke "Motorcycle Michael wants to buy a tank, only 29 years old & he's learning how to wank". Classic  Psycle Sluts - John Cooper Clarke - YouTube |
Richard Thompson - 1952 Vincent Black Lightning
"In my opinion, there's nothing in this world Beats a 52 Vincent and a red headed girl. Now Nortons and Indians and Greeves won't do, Ah, they don't have a soul like a Vincent 52" |

Yes, there was a lot of that at that time - big motorbike=certain death. 1966, half a dozen of us leave work, to the pub in Walthamstow, drink unbelievable amounts of beer. Closing time, onto the bikes, tear like crazy onto the old A11 Epping New Road as fast as possible to the Wake Arms roundabout hopefully negotiating the Robin Hood roundabout OK. Quick U-turn and back to someone's house in Chingford where sausage rolls and tea would be waiting courtesy of someone's mum/wife/girlfriend. Last one back's a sissy. Looking back - it's a real horror story - not all of us wore helmets. But we had trained - running across the surface section of the Central Line in front of the trains after school. In truth we left ourselves a lot of time before the train trundled past but there were 4 live rails to skip over. So we all survived I'm glad to say. Some didn't - that's where these songs came from. . |

That was clever Mark, well done, now all I have to do is to find a teenager (spit) and get it to transfer that session to my a-pod. (it's very old) Ride safe.
