South America
Hi,
I am planning a trip from South America to North America, Could anyone advise me the best way to get my bike to South America as the shipping costs seem to be excessive ?? Thank you Kev |
Get in touch with Dakar Motos in Buenos aires, Argentina. They are agents that can assist you.
Be aware that shipping prices have gone crazy around the world since "The Rona". Or you could just ride it there ? |
Another option could be to buy a bike from someone who made the trip down.

SA
Air Cargo Pack Bogota they fly to Panama-Bogota and specialize in motorcycles they do the dangerous goods processing and secure your bike on a pallet I heard it is 1200 us one way but was a while ago
so to get the moto to Panama is another adventure |
Well actually reading your question, you want to get your bike TO south America to start your trip?
Where are you starting from? Coming from Europe, riding it there might be problematic (@ Ted) (even Dylan Wikrama's raft might struggle with the Atlantic!) Air freight will be expensive, but straightforward. James Cargo in the UK are well known. (I think even the ubiquitous Itchyboots used them to get her Himalayan to Buenos Aires and CRF300 to Quito?) Alternatively RoRo transporters Grimaldi lines were cheaper (pre Cov) but there would not be much left of the bike on arrival. Cheapest is to share a shipping container, for which you need lots of biker friends, or a couple of 4x4ers. Any way round, it aint cheap. Sorry! |
