Three blokes book a shared room and are charged £30.00

The receptionist realises the room should only be £25.00 so tells the Bell Boy to give back £5.00

In the lift, the Bell Boy decides that it will be difficult to split £5.00 between three blokes so keeps £2.00 for himself and gives the blokes a pound each.

So the blokes have now paid £9.00 each for the room.

3 x 9 = £27.00 plus the £2.00 the Bell Boy kept is £29.00

What happened to the other pound ???

There is no other pound.

They paid £9 each = £27. The room cost £25, which leaves £2 for the bellboy.:thumbup1:

Where was this hotel it sounds dodgy, has anyone informed ABTA ?

I'd be more worried about the three blokes sharing a room together.

will the bell boy have to pay tax on his £2 or is it theft and thus tax free.
