Hello there, (my first post).
My main reason is curiosity, I do not like reading or hearing about beautifull places or people that I did not know. I want to have my own opinion about what is happening in the world, having seen it with my two eyes. |
Why Travel?
To live life with a BANG and not merely exist with a WHIMPER

Lifes to short
I have always wanted to ride a bike round the world, can,t really explain this but it had always been deep in me from being a kid, unfortunatly I didn,t have rich parents so this ambition had to be put on hold
Fast forward, 55 yrs old house payed for, succesfull buisiness in Manchester which I had been buying the property, also payed off.A wife who is also passionate about travelling and bikes Went to to many funerals all people and friends younger than me. Sold the buisiness, but kept the property, rented it out, rented the house out. sold the Blackbird (mine) sold the Fazer thou (hers)Bought a couple of XT 600,s 4 yrs later, 80,000kms and still on the road. Best thing we ever did, yes we occasionally miss Mcr, buuuuuut we are currently in South Africa taking R n R , Weve just done 4800km trip up to Zimbabwe And Botswana. Met amazing people, used horizons community a lot, horizons really rocks. To sum up I was 55, leaving it any longer meant it wasn,t going to happen and I didn,t want to be an old man, dribling in a old peoples home saying to the wife we really should of done that trip we spoke about! Hope that makes sense Pete n Brucella |
Brilliant question..!
I did my first trip when i was 16 on my 125cc, about 2 years from now. At the time i think i jut was eager to test my new 125. But as i came back from the 5 day trip i felt sad and wanted back out on the road.. I've started planing i wanted to see the world i wanted to do something that i could tell stories about when i grew up. Wanted to see the world beyond the city i'd grew up in and test myself. As it turns out i did make it, meet a whole bunch of new people, some of them who i got to be real friends with. And i got memories for atleast a bit of my lifetime! At the end of the summer i had done 6,000km and 20 days through Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The greatest thing tough was that i'd encouraged a whole lot of other kids to do the same, which resulted in 6 travel buddies to Norway! Summary! Memories Meet people and their culture See magnificent nature Brag your ass of when you get home! What i usally say is (when someone is asking): I think it's fun Cause i don't wanna sound chessy :rolleyes2: |
