Solo travel November (4x4)

Hi All,

I'll start my trip down south next week (as in, to reach Morocco). And wil be doing part of the TMT. Most likely K, L and part of M, although not into the atlas, so a short cut to stay in the dessert. Then R & S.
Most likely by that time I have spent up my time (around 2 weeks).

So I guess the post is mostly an open ended question on anything I might not have considered in advance.

I've been to Morocco before, though not the east. Been to other parts of southern Africa and will be driving my long(ish) owned Hilux.

Any tips are welcome.
Cheers, Haring

If you do M as far as Dades, may as well come back over Q - a great stage.
Sedn us a photo report when you get back ;-)

Yes. Good plan.

One other question popped into my head, although more a general "Morocco" question. Is beach camping allowed as far north as Essaouira?

And photo's will follow!!:thumbup1:

Thanks!

The coast road just South of Sidi Kaouki has several rough tracks that run down to the dunes behind the beach.
Also same for cliff camps between Agadir and Taghzout.:scooter:

Camping on beaches is illegal everywhere in Morocco. There are a few locations where it is tolerated or the coastguard/marine guys will give you the ok.

The hardest part to camp on the coast is between Sidi Ifni and Essaouira. Mostly due to huge numbers of camper vans doing it and the authorities bringing in more and more restrictions each year.

Thanks for the heads up. I figured something like that. It's a popular surf location (at least it was years ago). So the "van-crowd" pretty much follows. (a wild generalization, I know).

I'll stick to the east and just head back via the coastal highway.

Cheers, Haring
