BMW R80G/S Heinrich tank for sale UK Ebay

I have just put my R80G/S Heinrich tank up for sale on Ebay in the UK, overseas bidders welcome. The black circle isn't some bad imitation of a BMW badge but marks out approximately where the tank has been filled.

Auction number 301118427080

Here it is on the bike in Cape Town.

mind if I ask what panniers you got there and where you got hold of the tank in the first place? Looking all over for one.

Someone I know had a batch of panniers made by a local fabricator about 20 years ago before Touratech, Metalmule and others were available in the UK, he sold them to people he knew who had expressed an interest.
The tank came with the bike along with the standard one which is back on it, I bought them from the original owner who did a 4 year RTW trip on the bike when it was new, this photo was taken at the start of my trans-Africa trip and the bike's second which it completed without any problems.
Heinrichs don't come up for sale very often, I have not seem one since selling this one but there were two Acerbis to fit this bike on ebay last week.

I wold go for the acrebis if I see one floating around. Havn't seen one for months thought.
Do you notice any downside in handling with the heinrichs? They seem to be very top heavy and uncomfortable - something I find cool about the acrebis.

mark manley 26 Dec 2014 15:04

It was heavy and quite imposing, I sold it because I think the 24 litre tank from my R80GS is quite enough for most places and another 5 litres in a can will do anywhere else I want to go.
PM sent about Acerbis tank, I hope you got it in time.
