Change of bike color
I swapped the body panels on my F650 from light blue to black. Do you think this will cause problems at border crossings when my title is inspected. I am thinking no, because the VIN number is still there, but just being paranoid.

hello,
I crossed the tijuana border yesterday and my bmw is painted black and white (like a cow) nobody bothered me with it so I think you are ok to cross the border. on my bike papers the bike is listed as black. hope this will help you. mark. |
The solution is a can of spray paint. Or better yet a brush paint job. Low key is sometimes a lot better way to go. Even in camprounds I have got more free coffee in the morning with a not so rich looking bike. On a rainy cold night in france we got a warm hotel room because we were on small old rusty bikes.

Well, I'm crossing the mex border next week so we'll see, but if someone out there actually had a problem (at any border) because of this I'd like to hear about it.

I had a problem with just this at the Indian border.
Solution: cover the bike (or at least some prominant parts in tape of the suitable colour before you cross. |
Hi, the only borders I've crossed where anyone actually looked at the bike was going into Egypt and leaving Finland, the other 45+ countries they just looked to see if I have the correct papers and not that they correspond to the bike parked up somewhere outside their office. Regards Chris
