Having a wash in the morning after camping

I suppose it depends where you are. If you're on a campsite with washing facilities then you don't need to read any further. If however you are not and you've just spent the night camping and there are no immediate facilities you can use then perhaps you can try this. I have done it many times and I find it useful...

The night before I usually fill a hot water bottle (the standard rubber kind) for my sleeping bag. It helps keep me warm during the night and in the morning I empty the water into a collapsible basin. It won't be hot but it will still be warm enough to be useful. While my stove is boiling water for coffee I can have a perfectly acceptable wash instead of using cold water or wasting more time and fuel to heat more water.

Bloody good idea, when riding in cooler climates.

Here in OZ,we rather drink most of the water, while on a long trip.
Afterwards,it will be different.

Cheers

Good idea Chris, but I prefer something simpler.

For the past 40 years I have carried a damp flannel (face towel) in a plastic bag - delightfully refreshing to wipe your face with in hot and dusty conditions, and perfect to wipe the 'sleep' from your eyes upon rising.

Best to have a 'wash' before getting into that clean sleeping bag. 'Wet wipes' or baby wipes are good for a 'dry wash' - saves water and energy and you can burn the wipe afterwards.

It is indeed but I'm talking about the next morning.
