How to plan and visualize your RTW Route

As i plan my Transafrica Trip I spent hours in Google Maps for planning the rough route. Spent hours for adding things to see to Excel. Spent hours to discuss some details of the route in webcommunites like the HuBB.

Today I want to show you, how you can save a lot of time, how you can use one Tool for the most named above.

How you can create a route with unlimited waypoints, how you can add private and public notes to any waypoint. And how you can get help and suggestions through the included comment-function. How you can visualize your trip.

For shure this is handy too for shorter trips :thumbup1:

And here a sample trip I did use in my tutorial:
Sample-Route on Tripline

With tripline I would have saved many hours for my transafrica, if I had know that tool before. This have nothing to do with overplanning - if you try to write down some points who are worth to visit for each country.

This way you can decide if you want to view them during your journey, because you know where this points are.

But why? Rather use this time to travel slower and see more of the areas your going live ;)
It only takes seconds to mark a nice area you want to visit too in your paper map while reading someone elses travel report. Then find out how to get the visa and go...

Maybe my description was not that clear, tarider

This tool is not mentioned for navigation. Nobody plan a exact route and will follow them. The most of us use such a route for orientation, I guess.

This tool is about - how you can add informations about your route. How you can add private or public notes. How to discuss them. At sample about places you plan to visit.

If you plan a transafrica, you dont find a travelguide like "Lonely Planet Angola, or lonely Planet Kongo". You have to look of places to visit before.

Without knowing about the Kalandula falls in Angola - you will miss them on your route. Without knowing about the pedras negras, you will miss them too. Did you see any of these during your own Africa-Trip?

We did severall stuff where locals said they are worth to visit. Many of them wasnt that impressive. A local in africa usually dont see much of his area, he can just point to stuff he had seen or heared about.

Currently I plan a Panamericana without any time shedule. No time, no exact plan - just a start date. Also for this trip i use that tool mentioned here, to collect places I think they are worth to visit them.

If I will visit this points i will decide on my way. To know these points, give me the ability to choose.
