Packing before travelling
:welcome:1. If you are traveling with someone, pack half your clothes in his bag, and carry half his in your luggage. Then if one bag gets lost, you at least have half your things.
2. Wear or carry your bulky clothes on the flight if possible, rather than packing them, to create extra space in your bag. 3. Make a list of items you are taking and check them off as each item is packed. 4. Insert your name and address inside your baggage. 5. Put liquids in plastic containers, not glass. They aren't as heavy and are not as likely to break. And then place those containers inside plastic zipper bags. 7. Put small things in the toes and heels of your shoes. 8. Place shoes at the bottom of the case where the hinges are. They will stay in place and not shift clothing around by their weight. In fact, all heavy items should be placed there. 9. Don't roll belts; place them just inside walls of your bags, running around the circumference. They will take less room this way. 10. Less room is used if cosmetics, medications, etc., are placed in a zipper plastic bag and then transferred to regular cosmetic bag (which you have folded and placed in the bag) after you arrive at your destination. 11. Shoes should be packed in shoe mittens or an old pair of socks to protect other clothes from being soiled. :scooter: |

I didn't check his panniers for blouses... Stephan |
I haven't worn a blouse since the late 80's and my New-Romantic phase, still they say the 80's are coming back. Mind you tip about splitting your stuff with your riding partner isn't such a bad one.

Twisting my melon man...

No wonder you left the country... everyone else was wearing blouses in 1981; and just when Madchester was taking off and everyone was getting 'baggy' you were digging out the eye-liner... :blushing: Yes, that is a good idea about splitting stuff. Stephan |
Ahh OK it was early 80's then, I was a little chemically enhanced and forgot when it was.
|
Ha ha.
Yes.
I always put my spare inner tubes with my frilly knickers and hair straighteners, That way I can look good whilst fixing punctures! |

Last time meeleend posts travel turdbits here! |
Oh we are!
I have bags of lipstick and meds in my boots right now as well as unmarked plastic bottils filled with liquid. Cut my boxes so theres hinges at the bottom and belts all around it. Just need to find some one to take half my kit so I will have it when I lose mine. Just like she said to. :innocent: |
Good points with the packing, but personally I leave it to the wife, she is brilliant at it. this lady will travel light but well.
I am crap at packing clothes, bath bags, towels, etc on the other hand I am rather good at packing tool kits, tyre levers, cookers, adjusting chains, changing oil, brake pads, folding tents up,strapping down for the ride, It aint sexism its division of labour, Trust me I,d rather be good at packing sometimes:thumbup1: |
