Protecting your paint with Sheet Tack Paper
Hey guys, before leaving Iowa on my South America trip I painstakingly covered all of my paint with a translucent plastic material called Sheet Tack Paper from Home Depot. They use it to protect the inside of drawers. I also covered the plastic with several layers of duct tape after it started to look old and was starting to peal in Nicaragua.
I just removed the paint protection in Argentina and the result was amazing. The paint after many falls and 30,000 kms of riding looks like new. BTW: I will try and post up some pictures when I find a computer with a resizer. In the mean time if you want to see the pictures go to my website which is in my sig. Geoff |
Hi Geoff,
Good tip, I use something simular inside aluminim panniers to stop everything turning black. Have you finnished the trip or riding home? Steve |
Hey Steve, I am getting close to Ushaia but my bloody F650 is not cooperating again. I have a pretty big oil leak and think it is one of the engine gaskets.

Geoff,
sorry to hear about the oil leak, you have not had much luck lately with the bike. What is the plan. Steve |
