The weather - what's it going to do?
I've done a small amount of looking around the web for an "optimum" weather forecast site.
There is one in the HU webpage (on the left hand side of here) - National and Local Weather Forecast, Radar, Map and Report - this, being based in the USA, shows detail as Fahrenheit only and I have not seen a map presentation of the information. It may be there, I just have not found it! One I have looked at is:- Overseas forecast centre Here I can get some idea of what is happening in, say, the region of the Mediterranean as a graphic with temps (F and C), wind speeds etc. The regional presentation of information is useful IMO. Does anyone know a better location to get online weather forecasts (for free!!)? |

They have a world weather site. |
Also try the BBC - they have local and world weather.

I once wrote plugin for Girder to use Weather.com's feed. The feed is good because it tells you were the data is from, in my case for Hove, UK. It would use Shoreham, and should it have a problem it would use Gatwick Airport.
It is available in degrees f or c depending on how you grab the feed. I always found it really good. I have not looked at the feed for a couple of years now thou. Have you looked for local amatuer weather stations near your local, some people make the data available online? |

Danward79, I don't know what a Girder thing is for the weather.com site so I will take your word on that; I have no problem getting a local forecast via the TV etc etc. - usually it goes out about 24 hours. I didn't say it as such (and I should have spelt it out) but I was looking for the longer term forecasts across a bigger area - 5 days seems reasonable (and I have been told elsewhere that is about as long as a weather forecast can be expected to be at all reliable) - I have not looked at every site in detail yet, but I think one or more are offering 15 day forecasts. Does anyone know how accurate these may be? Apart from that, it would be good to hear any more thoughts on weather predictions. :stormy: :Beach: |
I find wunderground.com useful,

A couple of more
I've found a couple of more:-
The UK meteo office (should have realised they would have their own, and it is probably the source of all other weather forecasts for this area). However, it does forecasting for, say, Europe, the World etc. Met Office: World: Latest This one is very comprehensive, and basically seems to provide weather information based on the meteo organisations of many individual nations. All this in a choice of 6 languages. World Weather Information Service - Official Observations. Official Forecasts. Kind of spoilt for choice now! |
