UK - Spain ferry query for Morocco
Advice pls. We are looking at taking the Portsmouth to Santander or Bilbao - 3 riders on 3 bikes. We would like to share a cabin. Is there a way to do this?
When attempting to book, I see that each booking forces you to book a cabin or a seat. I cannot find a way to book 3 bikes with 3 riders and one cabin. Am I missing something? Thanks for looking. |
Last time we did Portsmouth to Santander we had to get separate tickets in order to take two bikes, my other half added a cabin to her ticket and I "went without" ... we only had one keycard for the cabin, but there was room for 4 people in there.

Brittany solved this issue several years ago, check attached screenshot
Choose three passengers, then motorbike as mode of transport, then increase the number of bikes to three. Have fun! . |
As Tim says
book 3 people book 3 bikes Book cabin for 4 ! depending where you are going . but Santander is a nicer then Bilbao |
The ferry I prefer is the Portsmouth to Santander one.
It currently leaves in the evening, so you have all day to make your way to Portsmouth. You spend that night and the next day/night on board, so you have plenty of time to relax. It's a route I use two or three times a year. Arrival is on the second morning (so Thursday departures arrive Saturday) at 8am Spanish time (7am UK) which gives you the whole day to start making progress heading south. Allow up to one hour for disembarking and border controls. I normally reckon on 1.5 days to get to Algeciras (1,000 km). I wouldn't try to make it in one day, you would be constantly pushing against the clock which isn't a great idea. And although one of you may be up for it, you need all three to arrive safely. You could overnight at Mérida if you want to explore Roman ruins (650 km, 7 hrs plus stops for lunch, coffee, fuel, toilets, so maybe 9 hours total). Or carry on to Sevilla (830 km). Thank you gentlemen. Very helpful. All booked on Portsmouth to Santander crossing. I think I was having a senior moment… Thanks again.
