I always take some unique candy for kids that I meet on the road and some easy to carry gifts for people that I meet on the road, especially for those that help me out of a tough spot (needless to say, I carry a LOT of gifts :cool4:)

The new flashlight by Garrity that doesn't require batteries! You just wind it up. A bit bigger/heavier, but what an invention.
And definitely ear plugs. You can buy silicone ones used to keep water out while swimming, and they're sold many places. And what a unique idea for condoms, keeping matches etc dry. I'll remember that... Lorraine |
First my bike - rofl :)
Camping Hammock, knife, tarp, repair kit, para-cord for things like a clothes line - busted boot laces - friction fire - to rig tarp or hammock++ Magnesium+flint, camp saw & shovel, water purification, Bible, 30 pairs of socks, pencil and paper because pens can dry out, 2 cell phones w/sims, first aid kit, flash light, tire pump, and extra plugs for that person you meet who forgot theirs be it biker or cage, 35mm camera - cheaper to loose - I can't find mine? If in the U.S. a pistol and ammo.. SwampFox Tim 5:1-2 Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity. |
2 Cheap Digital Cameras
I take the bottom of the line cameras from Nikon...coolpix 4600 and its newer version...the L6...God forbid one of them goes down, you have another as backup and they're light and small enough...
If you only have one, and one goes down, not only do you miss taking some pics, but the cost of picking up another one en route and choices is a bugger... edde |

i´m camping in nature a lot, therefor i use a green plastic tarpaulin (hood) to sit on and during nights i put it accross my blue tent and the motorcycle to be hidden a bit.
further i carry a little pepperspray with me. my girlfriend bought it for safety reason against strangers but i found out that its more useful to prevent from some unwanted animals in nature. it works great against nasty dogs :-) that want to share your meal. |
essentials
I never leave home without Robertson's Seville Orange Marmalade and "Dilmah" tea .
Try them ! |

I too cover the bike and tent for the same reason: Thanks for the tip about pepper spray for dogs. I wanted to shoot them but carrying a gun brings a lot of problems. |
Oh I don't know, I just met a guy the other day on the Dalton Highway in Alaska who had a rifle/rack on his Harley AND a .44 handgun. Goes to show you can never be too 'tooled up' when you are going for a ride!
Seriously though, definitely spare bank cards. I'm carrying two but only use one which I transfer my monthly cash into. I just found out some fecker in Mexico has been relieving me of cash and have had to cancel that card so luckily i have the spare and I can now transfer money into that account. Oh, and a Visa card for buying a laptop when you get to the US and find out they don't have internet cafes like they do in South/Central America, only Wi-Fi. |
A Kikoi!
