Sorry for beeing the messenger of bad news, but there goes the passage down to West Africa by the atlantic coast for a period perhaps....

If this turns bad, there is only one way down trough Africa and thats Egypt/Sudan etc... as I understand it.

Errr this is serious,

I am going through Mauritania in six months time. Does anybody know if the border has been closed.

I will need to make arrangements to fly to Gambia if I cannot drive. Bother, that means I will lose some money on ferries etc.

Any further news on this? Myself and friend travelling down to Gambia and Mali in Nov via Atlantic route.
