down to Agadez
 

i'm thinking to go down to Agadez and further
by car in July with some friends from Holland-Genua-Tunis-El Oued-Tam. think that that til Tam is ok. it it teally? and then from there to Arlit? can anyone tell me if it's ok to travel with a simple car (Japanese or French) thus not a 4x4. i've done the traject Dakhla-Nouakchott twice with a Peugeot 305 and it was great!

Some time ago now, but did this 10 years ago in a VW camper, in convoy with a Peugeot 504 estate (? model number... square headlights). P got through pretty much everything. Piste often mangled and very bumpy though: had the van in the air near Laouni dune (just N of Alg/Niger border) which you must walk first... a real car graveyard.

I did it twice with a Peugeot 504.

You get stuck in the sand so now and then, but it can be done.
But I think july is a bad idea.

Go in winter time.
