I love my XT !!! Simple and low tuned.

It will run happily all day on Quilmes (beer) if it had to.

The fuel attendant put 85 Octane in it by mistake and I didnt even notice the difference from 95.

The compression ratio is so pathetic, it only makes 40 bhp for a 600cc but the low state of tune makes fueling problem free.

South America fuel
 
Was there this past December. From BA to Stg to Bariloche then east again back to BA. Didn'y have a problem with the fuel quality, it was usually available but my paranoia had me refueling as soon as I was at 1/2 tank. Riding a Transalp 650 from MotoCare in BA. At higher elevations the bike seemed to dog out a little, but no big deal
