hello i am planning to travel through Iran over the next few months and have just had a report from an Iranian living in Iran that it is very dangerous for travellers right now that there is civil unrest and war could break out at any time. Can enyone confirm these reports or have any other news on the current situation.

What exactly did your acquaintance say?

There is civil unrest in Baluchistan and has been for years, but I did not hear of any westerners being harmed, so I would risk going there (during the next 10 month probably, see http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...west-now-22493 )
