Need to have guide for travelling Western China?
 

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has advice on the current situation in travelling independently by motorbike in Western China. I'm planning a journey from Xining to Kashi on the 315 highway. I heard from agencies who I contacted for bike hire that its necessary to take a guide and wanted to know if anyone has experience or recommendations for this.
