peru bolivia border problems
 
has anyone crossed any of the peru bolivia borders recently. we are in lapaz and are being told that all borders are closed and there are blockades. if you know what is going on I would love to hear how we can get to peru safely.

Not entirely sure whats going on there but perhaps you could ride to Arica and cross into Tacna? Visit Sajama National Park on the way, it's really nice!

BBC today(27 May) said riots in Puno to protest a possible mine above Lake Titicaca.

Maybe this is part of the problem.

Just an update for you guys, I was watching the news during lunch and they said that buses are again traveling from Bolivia into Peru so this would probably mean motorcycles as well of course.
