Possible coup/coup attempt in Thailand
19th Sep - 5pm BST. BBC is reporting that there's a possible coup attempt in Thailand. The prime minister has called a state of emergency. It might be a good idea to review your plans if you are just about to enter Thailand.

Bloodless Coup a Done Deal!
Apparently the military has pulled off a relatively smooth bloodless coup,
taking govt. house in Bangkok. Of course, as we all know, most "Bloodless Coups" don't stay that way for long. No idea how this will affect foriegn travellers. My guess it will have NO affect unless you are with the press or are on a list somewhere. Very few details so far on the report I've heard. For those in the region, good luck, stay safe! apparently quiet so far
Hubby's there now, says things are pretty quiet - banks and govt offices closed, of course, but most other things (restaurants, shops) open. News services have been affected, though (no CNN/BBC being broadcast locally). Knock wood it stays relatively quiet ...
