little comfort
It will be little if any comfort to know you are not the first to have exactly the same thing happen at Jollyboy's, an Irish motorcycle traveller that I met in Sudan had exactly the same thing happen there about 3 years ago.
It is a great place to stay, I camped there and had no problem but perhaps the advice in future would be stay in the dorm or get a room. Good luck getting things sorted out. |

Tim, I can help you out with some kit and some cash to help you through. Let me know how I can get it to you. I'm in Durban. If you are heading down this way, I have a spare 1 bedroom flatlet you can use for free until you get yourself sorted out. I have two sets of boots that are a size 11 or so, not new, but better than nothing. Can also help you with some other kit. I will also put a post on Wild Dogs forum and see if there is anybody in Zambia who can help. Geoff |

Just what a forum such as this is for - Tim, I wish you well and hope this is the last mishap you suffer on your trip. Best of luck |
Thankyou all
I sort of guessed this may have happenened before and the help i got from Jolly boys was less than Jolly!
Im in Lusaka sorting a new passport and trying to get some kit together Thanks for the support, especially From SA...... Even thou ive been cleaned out im not bitter with the thiefs as ive been on the road for 4 years and this is my first major theft Ill be back on line when i can. I was very tired that night and the camp was noisy so i put my earplugs in and when you are surrounded by razor wire and electric fences its a fair asumption that youll wake in the morning with your tent the way you left it!!! |

help
Not sure where you're headed next, but Jungle Junction in Nairobi might help you out. I left a pair of size 12(46) moto boots when I was there(06 I think!). You might be able to pick up some bits there. JJ's is a good place to meet other travelers- some camping and others being extorted to some degree! There is a KTM dealer in Nairobi- 50EU for goggles, etc. Sorry for your loss- but I understand, I do love my ear plugs for a good nights sleep. Be steady, Dave.
