Travelling to Russia
Just wondering if they check social media due to Ukraine. I was kind of vocal when it started
|
some Westerners have had their phones checked at airports over the last year and if you are going in via the Baltic states or Belarus I would assume they will look. They are keen on anything which can be used to promote their message that they are at war with the West rather than Ukraine.

Some do, some don't. If in doubt there's an obvious action to take.

Might be best to avoid then sadly.

Domestic conflicts (civil wars) are a little different. It depends on the country, and how localized the conflict is. Sometimes - not always, but sometimes - you can safely travel to a country where a domestic conflict is underway, provided you stay away from the area where the fighting is taking place. |
Avoid the conflict by entering Tussoa via Turkey and Georgia. Once you are in Russia you should go toward Astrakhan. If you have a multi entrance visa, you could enter Kazakhstan and cut up to the north and back into Russia far from the military zone. The best parts are to the east anyway.
