Weather advice for Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.

Planning on shipping my T700 to Colombia and spending three months riding thru Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. The shipping issue is getting very hard to plan due to costs that in some cases have quintupled, but that's an issue for another thread elsewhere on the HUBB.

My questions are about weather. From what I can see on the weather sites, the best plan for Jan - May, my planned dates in 2023, would be most places in Colombia, and then due to rain stick to the coast areas in Ecuador and Peru, then return to Colombia to ship my bike back to the USA.

I'm not a fan of riding in the rain. I do it when I have to, but I just don't enjoy it at all.

Any advise on best weather areas during this time period in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru?

Very useful chart. Thanks!

If anyone has any weather info specific to the coast of Ecuador and Peru I'd like to know. By the research I've done, the coast of Peru is pretty dry year round (Nazca lines, other stuff to see there), so was hoping it might be similar in Peru. Colombia for the most part should be OK in Jan - April.

The best site I know is https://www.climatestotravel.com - good information.

The "winter" (rainy seasons) in Colombia are in essence the 4-6 weeks around the equinoxes, although it's not a case of a constant downpour - a few hours in a day maximum, and it;s not every day. Note also (refer to the link) that Colombia has a huge range of ecosystems - the climate in the Llanos is different from that in the Eje Cafetero.
