Good luck regardless. |
Ask at the embasy.?
---- My understanding is that it is like crylic - you can 'read' it as in pronounce it - but what the sounds mean becomes the interpertation. Good luck. |
Can you provide more information? eg what country is it? My staff think it's very poorly written Arabic or perhaps Farsi. They can make out the word "visa" but that's all (just like English nouns can read the same in Malay or Spanish this doesn't help). What are the circumstances?

It's from Iran. I got my visa refused and just received my passport back. I gather the reason for the refusal is written on it. And indeed probably in Farsi.

It is Farsi not Arabic. While it uses an Arabic script and some words are common, it is a different langauge belonging to the Indo-European family. My wife could read it but wouldn't necesarily know the meanings of the words. You could of course go and visit a persian carpet shop in Vancouver, i am sure they would know someone who could help you out.

Ain't this Inter-Web thingy just the greatest! The message was posted at 8.30pm on the 20th and by 6.30am on the 21st, we now know what language it is! It's all smoke and mirrors....

It says: “Visa refused since applicant believes Arabic spoken in Iran”. No, actually it says: “Please return back without giving visa.” [Honestly] Stephan |
Yep, confirmed by an Iranian friend;
"It is written 'return without giving a visa'. No reason given. It seems someone at the reception desk wrote it with a terrible handwriting and it is not official. He should call up the embassy in Ottawa and ask why his application was refused." Grant |
