Help please
I've just put the deposit down on a 2002 Honda bike with 12k on it. I'm due to pick it up next week. When I got home I paid for an online check and it flagged that it was import and came into the UK in 2008. I know this will affect the resale value but my main concern in the mileage. I can't check anything beyond 2008 to authenticate it. Its had 4 owners since and working on the national anual average of 3-4k a year, I'm concerned that it would have had its clock changed when imported from kmh to mph and zero'd it. So its done 12k since 2008 and its not its correct mileage!
Is this mad and should I be concerned. I've traced an MOT to 2010 and it had done 11,000miles. So if its gone through 2 owners since and it is now 12,000, its seems a bit odd. The dealer did not tell me it was an import before I put the deposit down, am I entitled to ask for it back on these grounds? Wise wise people please assist :confused1: |

Check for repaired damage as well - make the dealer HPI check the bike at his cost - all reputable dealers will do this before they even take in a used bike. I always think it is worth paying a bit more for a newer bike with service history and no dings; no 'orrible surprises that way. Probably saves in the long run too if you don't keep it too long. |
I recently moved house and when I changed the details on my registration certificate it changed the number of former keepers.
So if the owner moved house then it would have had only 1 new keeper also some on could have damaged it sold it as repair project and the buyer done it up and sold on. Thats could be a reason for the low milage in the last two years. |
