Hello maybe would be better to your relatives take care about the house, i mean a cousin o brother can enjoy with our stuff. therefore you will have a permament person keeping your things safe. and they will regard you like the best crazyand friendly relative!

Yes, I agree with this, we are fortunate in having 1 out of 3 daughters and numerous of my wife's siblings and nieces/nephews living in this remote city to take care of our house and 1 dog (who travels w/us in N. America) and 2 cats.
People are the best at watching the house!

They'd better be watching over things and not just enjoying our stuff. Relatives tend to abuse the use of everything inside the house, thinking they can get away with it because they're kin.

It would be great if my daughters did look after it as they normally clean everything and have even moaned at me if I make a mess - in my own place! Trouble is they live 50 miles away and are very busy with families of their own, so it wouldn't be fair to ask them.

My main worry is if the place exploded or something and troubled the neighbours. Just want to make it safe.
