We are planning to travel across Europe for 6 months plus this summer on a UK registered bike but are having trouble getting both bike and travel insurance for more than a 30. day trip.

Any recommendations ?

I have just spotted your post tucked away down here, it might of been better off in trip paperwork where there are quite a few threads about insurance.
I have had my long term travel insurance with these people Travel Insurance I didn't have to claim so no idea how well it works but is designed with motorcycle travel in mind.
I am not so sure about bike insurance but take a look around the trip paperwork section and there might be something there.
