Israel to Turkey
Hi there fellow people.
I am having a bit of trouble finding concrete information on passing from Israel through Lebannon, syria, Turkey and back to Europe. I would appreciate any info from people who have done this trip recently or planning to do it in the near future. Particularly on border crossings and visas. Thanks |

Perhaps you have heard that Syria is in the midst of a brutal civil war, and whilst Damascus is accessible, the north of the country is being bitterly contested, resulting in wide-scale slaughter and destruction? Have you heard about Syrian refugees in Turkey, the Balkans and Central / Western Europe? The north and east of Syria are totally out of bounds, borders are sealed and border areas in many cases controlled by some pretty unpleasant people. Hard to believe this is a serious question. :( |
There's no border crossing you can drive through between Israel and Lebanon mate.

Merhaba,
Currently nothing more to add good things to what said by eurasia overland, and other friends..Getting worse and worse.. If you will need a plan B, ships run very infrequent between israel and turkey which accepts LCW. and no passengers..Personally done in 2012 and no current inf. at my side for 2015 and 2016.. If you wish to get in touch with the shipping agent in israel,(May be they have current diff.options),link is below.. TIRAN SHIPPING Adres 44 Jaffa Road, P.O.B. 33196 Haifa 31331, Israel Tel +(972) 4 8509000 Fax +(972) 4 8556888 Web Tiran Group For visa and paperwork to enter turkey..E visa available and insurance is sold at all gates for turkey.. Hope helps.Best wishes... |
Thanks for that Mehmet... Despite the Gloomy ( a little sarcastic also ) reply of Eurasia I am plodding along with my plan.Must admit I lost all my faith in mainstream media along time ago and prefer to trust in higher-moraled things.
When your time comes your time comes...not worth bothering about the fear. Visited the Balkans towards the end of the war and met great people. Every time you get on the saddle the thaught thay it might be the last time should croos your mind. |

current realities for al friends on Syria...
Merhaba,
Current information and realities for syria for all friends.. Problems in syria doesnt cover only syria.the whole northern part of mid east is dangerous and very risky currently..Yes,never trust media.Since many years, information found in HUB. about countries is more realistic, lightening even there are few quixotic (Don Quixote likeminded) commenters here too. (Best way ignore them incl. sold media news like I do) Its a war between more than 120 hired terrorist groups which are enemy to eachother in syria while some of them are at the same side in north ıraq. More than 30 nationalities are in the groups, the jobless ones, hopelesses, psychological patients, not only from european countries but also from many asian countries have participated these terrorist groups and fighting for them against a good salary, some power, etc..thats why many countries dont want the end being afraid of what will happen when these terrorists return to their home countries.. This is not the war between religions, between islamic groups or governments or super brothers. This is not only for sharing the energy and energy lines but also for keeping the danger and anarchy outside homelands of european countries, usa, russia and turkey...(attack and defeat outside your homelands as the best defence system) The last travelers from turkey to africa was Motomonkey adventures from AUS..and from africa to turkey was Willie Pienaar from south africa whom I met and talked personally while they were here..Since then, almost 6 years, noone has succeeded to enter even it would be by following a hired taxi as the escort and nonstop pass without entering any town.(It was the plan B. and last plan for 3 bikers from switzerland to capetown, after staying a while at a friends house in the bordertown of turkey,şanlıurfa) So Syria is still nogo area. When it ends (hopefully 2018 summer), sure I will be one of the firsts to be there..Had many local friends,(failed to get in touch since several years), I too missed falafel, arabian kebaps, desserts,(more delicious and natural than ours),belly dance parties, etc. İnsallah ı will be able to meet some of my great, generous old friends.. Best Wishes.... |

Seriously, I would go by boat.............. |

I'm not someone to follow government or media advice; people told me for example that I couldn't drive across the Khyber Pass into Afghanistan, or that I couldn't drive through Abkhazia into Russia. They were wrong about both those things. But back to the OPs question; even if it was 2005 the trip would still be totally impossible; the Israel - Lebanon border is of course absolutely sealed, not to mention the fact that neither Syria or Lebanon will allow you in the country with Israeli stamps in your documents. There's a difference between not believing in 'common' knowledge and not having the first clue about the practicalities of a region, and to top this off with a kind of Quixotic flippancy towards the humanitarian disaster in Syria seems almost offensive to me. Even before the very serious recent events in the region (I passed through the area in 1999: Turkey > Syrian> Jordan > ferry to Egypt, then south trans Africa), the only overland border open between Israel and anywhere was to Egypt. With an Israeli entry/exit stamp in your passport you would be a person non grata in virtually every country in the region (except Turkey and Egypt)
That the OP is even contemplating his suggested itinerary, would cause most people to really scratch their heads in puzzlement. As mentioned above already, please update this community as to how you get on with implementing your plan. I sincerely hope not to see you in an IS video. |
That route is pretty much a suicide right now mate. We all know media exaggerates things sometimes but this is the real deal. The route you are planning to take is an all-out war zone right now. With heavy artillery, tanks, rockets etc. I suggest you change your route or take the boat. God be with you.
