Kawasaki in Holland
Hi Folks,
I am in a bit of a bind with no clear path ahead, so I'm posting here in hopes someone can easily offer some sort of solution. I'm in Suriname, former Dutch colony in South America. I'm riding a bike which is not known here--a KLR 650. I just blew out my shock. The bike is not rideable with any degree of safety on the roads between here and the nearest place I know to get parts, which is Colombia. Transport is very easy between Holland and Suriname....difficult to and from anywhere else. If it is possible to buy a shock for my bike in Holland and ship it here, that would probably be the easiest thing for me (and probably the cheapest and fastest). Are there any Dutch riders who can find out whether this is possible? I know that the KLR is not sold in Europe, but I don't know whether Kawasaki dealers can get the parts for an American KLR. I also don't know how easy it is to send by DHL here, but I think if I can pay for it, that would be the easy part. The bike is a 2007 KLR 650, American. I need an OEM or any other shock which will fit. Any responses welcome---on this thread, by PM, or email markharf "at" yahoo "dot" com. Thanks much! Mark |
You might talk to Cogent Dynamics. They make a rear shock for the KLR which is far better than stock and can be rebuilt.
Details: MotoCD - KLR 650 "Moab" Shock Not certain what the problem is shipping from a location other than Holland, but you might give them a call and see what they can do for you. Cogent Dynamics is located in the USA. Great people working there and very knowledgeable about suspension. |
