.. known by the company he keeps

Basing my decision on the principle that if you walk in Brown stuff Brown stuff sticks...I'm out of here. I think I'll ride alone for a bit. Grant, I know your job is difficult. Having cut out the cancer once, to allow it a second chance, in the hope that it will prove itself to be benign, is a kindness too far.
All in agreement sat AYE.

Why walk in it then

I'm assuming your post is in response to the various imposters that are having their fun provoking the happy traveller types that frequent this board and make it the valuable resource that it has become known and loved as.

There are few ways to completely avoid the pranksters of cyberspace that have too much time on their hands and too little respect. The most effective methods would mean that the board would have to become restricted, which is entirely opposed to the spirit of it.

The best response, in my opinion, is no response. Don't rise to it. They get their pre-pubescent kicks from baiting in the hope that there will be an emotional response.

Just skip over their contributions - they're clearly not worth the effort of even reading them. Don't walk in the brown stuff.

It's just a pity that so few can disrupt the great environment that the HUBB usually is.

I must admit I don't read everything on the site - too busy doing other stuff but have I (as a moderator) missed something. I really dislike it when stuff like this happens . What's been going on ? This is supposed to be a community of like minded folks and if one or two people start upsetting the harmony of the hubb they will not be welcome any longer. Let's keep the fun meter focused on the good stuff :funmeteryes:

Bernard,

Yes, you're right - it IS difficult!

And I've had as many say leave it alone as kill 'im!

Best way to deal with someone you really can't stand - add him to your ignore list! Click on the users name, Profile, and on the blue bar above the info is "Add to buddy list" - er well maybe you wnat the next one along - "Add to ignore list"

Hope that helps.

I'd like to think that the HUBB is a good friendly place for all - there is certainly FAR less acrimony than on just about any board I've ever visited.

I am watching VERY closely to see what's what, and to try and gauge the popular opinion - but in the end it's my decision. :(

And I will ban anyone that has earned it, but I am inclined to be TOLERANT until it gets out of hand. Kinda like the parent in a store with a kid draggiing along...

"leave that alone! put that back! stop screaming or you'll get it!"

some of them never carry out the threat - I do.

In the meantime, patience and tolerance is called for - just like on the road.

Some never learn, and will get banned.
